Application of Riegogel by means of a fertilizer spreader in pre-sowing of wheat in Morón de la Frontera (Seville). Riegogel 1018 is specially formulated for use in all types of herbaceous crops and horticulture.
How does it work?
Riegogel is made up of long parallel polymer chains that join together to form a network. Water quickly migrates into the polymer network where it is stored.
This is how Riegogel goes from a solid and granulated form to become a water gel. The absorption capacity of Riegogel is greater than that of the soil but less than that of the roots of the plants, so the water will be released gradually when they need it.

Use in wheat
In the following photos and video we show the application of Riegogel 1018 in a plot of Morón de la Frontera (Seville) in the pre-sowing phase, during the last cultivation tasks. Our client used a fertilizer spreader to incorporate 90 kilos of Riegogel for each hectare. One of the advantages of Riegogel is that due to its different granulometries and solid state it is not necessary to invest in the purchase of specific machinery to apply it, with the most common machinery available to professionals in the field is sufficient.
The ideal is to use Riegogel in the days before the arrival of rainfall so that the storage of water is immediate and to begin to see its benefits. In the case of Riegogel 1018, it needs only 4.6 liters of water for each kilo of product to activate.
For Riegogel to work properly, it must be placed around the roots, not below them. In the case of wheat, 50-75% of the roots are between 0 and 25 cm deep and the rest can reach up to a meter. The tasks that are done after harvesting must take this depth into account, since when turning the land and preparing it for a new planting, the existing product in the land cannot fall to a depth in which the roots of the plant will not be. the new plants. We remember that the useful life of Riegogel on the ground is 3 to 4 years, so it will only be necessary to replace a certain amount each year to compensate for the part of the product that remains on the surface after turning and loses water by evaporation when being exposed to the sun.
